Geocache Description:

The cache is on the South Shore Natural Science Center property. Park in the parking lot; it's a short walk into the woods. The trails are open dawn to dusk, and no dogs are allowed.

The South Shore Natural Science Center, founded in 1962, is a non-profit organization with a membership of caring residents dedicated to protecting the natural resources and quality of life of the South Shore. The Center is set on 30 acres of forest and meadow, and is adjacent to 200 acres of conservation land near Jacobs Pond.

Follow the trail, and as you near the site of the cache, be certain to observe the tree that fell victim to the wrath of Hurricane Gloria, in 1985. The area is marked by "borrow pits", remnants of the areas agricultural past.

The cache is a clear tupperware container.

Watch for poison ivy!
