Geocache Description:

Golden Horseshoe Multi-Cacher Multi-Cache
Stage 6 of the GHMCMC series.
Pilkington
by J.A.R.S.

Hidden over four years ago, initially as a brainstorm of Flick, the GHMCMC has pretty much run it's course as a cache series. So, as of July 1, 2007, the FINAL stage of the GHMCMC series will be removed. Each of the individual caches will continue as standalone caches at the discretion of the individual cache owners. Thanks to everyone who participated in hiding the caches, and to the hundreds of cachers who found the various caches!
See the GHMCMC Final page for more details!

Pilkington Overlook is a nice place to stop for a short break through Mennonite country. There's a pleasant view of the Grand River winding through a pastoral setting. There's a small parking lot near the cache, look for the Pilkington Overlook sign.

The best way to get to the cache is from the main trail that leads down to the water. Walk down the trail for about 125 metres or about 3/4 of the way to the river. At N43 37.862 W80 26.503 look to your right and you should see a small orange trail marker tied to a cedar tree. Follow the markers, they're not really obvious because I don't want non-cachers to notice. They lead the way to somewhere near the cache. This will hopefully make the experience more enjoyable and decrease the amount of bushwacking.

Don't cover up the cache too much when re-hiding it or it will make it too difficult to find. We want this to be relatively easy to find once you get near, so hide it to match the 2 difficulty rating. Watch out for the spiny hawthorn tree

Watch for spider webs in the late summer/early fall months. Pick up a stick and wave it in front of you as you walk to break them up.

BTW letterboxes are nearby (too close to add to the gc database).
