Medds Mountain Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Scotty Dogs: Made the trek to the cache site today and, Yes ! It,s gone. (11 years is not a bad run) So I will archive this one, but I do plan to place another close by soon. Years of winter run off and summer rain has sure changed the terrain here. Lot more downed trees than before, making hiking a bit of a chore So when I replace this one I,ll pick a spot a bit more accessible.

Geocache Description:

Located in the village of Millbrook in Cavan Township. You won,t need mountaneering gear to scale this mountain. It,s actually just the side of the valley in which Millbrook sits. It,s been affectionetly called Medds Mountain since the early days when Millbrook was a busy milling town. Recently groups have refurbished the area for walking, hiking and as I saw when hiding the cache mountain biking.

Follow the mountain loop 1.3 Km, which as the sign at the park entrance tells us is an area of old growth Hemlock, White Pine and Cedar. While you are here you can enjoy the other trails which lead from the mill pond park. One actually leads south to another cache site " Turtle Crossing" left by Shellys crew. So if your up to it you can bag two caches in one trip.

Cache container is a small ammo box, with the usually contents. and if you happen to notice two pairs of trees with large boulders stuck firmly in their vees, Your almost there.
