I noticed there didn't seem to be very many caches in Cape Breton, so I decided to add one more while up here on a trip. I have often wanted to take the trip up to Meat Cove. It is like stepping back in time. The last 8km is dirt road, kind of like the Cabot Trail was many, many years ago. VERY SPECTACULAR views of the ocean and waves in various inlets along here. There is a small pull off area at the side of the road to park in. You will see two large flat topped boulders up the hill from there. (and a inukshuck stone man if it's still there). The cache is in a small clearing in the woods just behind the boulders. The terrain is very irregular, and probably not suitable for small children. There are many loose rocks, and interesting cave / crevices, but its very un-stable, so please be carefull. No special equipment is needed to climb it. You can see your vehicle from the boulders. A number of trails seem to be scattered about the villiage area, including one that goes up the mountain. I didn't try any of them yet. Cache Contents when placed: Logbook and pencil
