Log book only, painted rock for first finder.
After work one Friday, March 1987, about 11:00 p.m., Tonto and I decided to go to Medford. We always use old Rt. 66, (the Greensprings Hwy). Well, this winter evening was no different. Off we go and naturally it starts to snow about the time we get to Parker Mtn. After a short time I noticed some car tracks going in the same direction. The tracks had snow in them and I knew that the car was in front of us. As time went on, it got to snowing harder, real hard in fact, and the car tracks ahead of me were getting fresher. I told Tonto that we will soon be catching up with this car. As we passed the turnoff to Hyatt Lake, we were getting closer and closer. And then, just before Keene Creek bridge the tracks cut across the big corner and went straight into the ditch. Now wait a minute! There is a rock wall on the other side of that small ditch. If a car had put its front wheels in that ditch, it’s front end would be smashed on the rocks. There were no footprints or any other tracks, and no car! The shivers ran up our backs! That car has just plain disappeared! Tonto looked at me as I looked over at her. She said do you want to go back and look at that again? I said not for all the tea in China. I know what I saw, and I don’t want nothing to do with Keene Creek bridge ever again, besides everyone thinks we are crazy after telling the story.
