Geocache Description:

Another one for the Rand Tract located in the beautiful Valley Section of Syracuse, NY! Located near Mushroomer's Delight (0.68 mi. to the NNE) and others. Be sure to stop at Webster's Pond on the way or way back through to enjoy the fish and feed the ducks!

Tibbetts is my boxer/husky mix - sometimes affectionatly name "The Tibby Monster" - he's 9 years old and can get pretty ornery when he wants to be! Well.....Practically everyday of his puppy dog life, he has gone for a walk in the trail system of the Rand Tract, and loves to run, and frolick in the springs, spring fed streams; and he even goes on occasion caching with us as a special treat.

Last night though; he lived up to his "Monster Name", I had a tough day at work, and told him I was going out caching(doing only one mind you! :-), and would take him for his ride and walk as soon as I got home.
Well...let's just say the cache didn't come along as easy as it should have; I blew all four tires on my car (and no spare to boot!), ran out of gas after getting 4 new tires airlifted to me; and overall was just too late in getting home to go for ANY walk! I went to bed (AND...of course I apologized to poor ol' Tibby)...

During the night I heard what sounded like keys jingling, and the doors opening - I knew (or at least THOUGHT I knew!) it was a dream...a bit later I heard the same thing -Then this morning when I got up, I noticed all my geocaching supplies, were rifled through, my GPS was on the outside step, and Tibbetts - let's just say he had an evil grin as I let him out! I noticed one of my camoflauged Ammo Boxes (30 cal) was gone as well...

I brought him in and sat him down on the couch for a talk! No biscuits, no bones, no walks, no treats.....no nothing, until he came up with the truth! ;-) He fully denied knowing anything of course!
Then....I threatened him by upping the ante with giving him a bath - oh let me tell YOU!!!!!! He talked like a baby!

Here's what happened......
Seems Mr. Tibbetts decided that since he didn't get to go for his walk; because I was out geocaching (and didn't beleive any of my excuses!), he decided to make me suffer as he did with not going for his walk.... He got up in the middle of the night for a late night biscuit and bone chewing session, and decided he was going to make sure I couldn't go caching for a long time by taking my stash... So, he called up his puppy cousin The Bufferhead, and had her come down to our house and meet him out front. The two of them decided to go wayyyyyyyyy wayyyyyyyyyy wayyyyyyyyyyy up in the woods and hide my things, and let me try to figure out where they went.... :-(
He and The Buff frolicked and played throughout the cemetary, looking at all the pretty doggie pictures and statues on stones, jumped around in the streams, played in the pond, and decided to run and jump in the field in the very back of the cemetary. As they were playing in the back field - they seemed to notice (with the help of my flashlight that's missing too I may add!) a trail head in the SW corner of the mowed area behind a big Maple tree - they figured I would never see the trail, and decided to venture up in the woods that way. They climbed, and hiked; straight up, not knowing that you can take the extensive trail system to get anyplace in the park, if you know which ones go where! Finally, they found a trail running north and south as far as the eye could see (at least at night!) they decided to head south down it. Since they heard a babbling brook they figured why not stop and get a sip to drink, and go for a swim and frolick?! They did, and headed a bit more down the trail when lo and behold they found another brook to play in...They sure were having a blast hiding MY things! Perhaps he forgets who pays the bills around here!!!!!! Hmmmmmmmmmmm......... ;-)
As they got out of the second stream all refreshed they decided it was going to be light soon, so they had to hide the loot, and get back home before their owners found out. They went down the trail a bit more, not passing a large square boulder on the left, because they could see posted signs out in the distance, and turned up a hill and walked through a messy maze of vines and downed trees, until they found the perfect spot! A tree that had been over turned for quite a long time, and had it's curved base of the trunk sticking straight up in the air...Covered with vines and a few small branches; they figured this could be their spot, and could even make a clubhouse out of it to enjoy the loot; and maybe even invite the Bunn E. Family, or Mr. and Ms. Rocky the Squirrel over as well for get togethers (see other caches placed by my teammate and myself of "Team Yay WUV!!!!"). What a beautiful place they thought, they saw the sun starting to rise through the hardwood forest, and decided to make double time back home; but quickly remembered to cover the Camoflauged Ammo box up with some bark, twigs, sticks and leaves; so no other doggies, deer, fox, or turkeys would find their secret stash!
They played and joked all the way home, laughing about how Tibbetts' Daddy deserved this for not taking Tibby for a walk. They both snuck back into their houses and went back to sleep - although Tibbetts made the big mistake of forgetting to clean his mess up!

Since I am so upset and distraught over this whole incident, I feel that I can never, ever go cacheing in those woods anymore.... So, I have to ask you all to go try and see where my things may be! Bring something to put in the cache, to trade, as that way Tibbetts and The Buff won't have their original party goods up there, and will make them think twice about doing it again, since they'll know someone is watching! Hee! Hee!

Enjoy yourself and the other really nice caches placed in this forest! Be prepared for all sorts of wildlife, wildflowers, and mushrooms...

Well...Guess it's time to go feed him - he at least needs that - but all his bones and biscuits are on hold for a longggggg time!

Hmmmm....let me get the co-ordinates he gave me out of my wallet.......
TIBBETTTTTSSSSS.........
Where is my wallet????!!!!

Oh there it is....
Hey where's that 5 dollar Where's George dollar bill gone to?!

You are in soooooooo much trouble young man - get over here................. :-)

Have fun with this one, I need to go have another talk with my "son"!
