Geocache Description:

Located in Cedar Hill and Sawink Farm Rerservation. Located off Loop Trail

The Cedar Hill and Sawink Farm reservation consists of 1600 acres of open space between Marlborough, Northborough, Southborough and Westborough. The properties are owned and maintained by the Sudbury Valley Trustees. The land is mostly red maple swamp, but the Cache is located on a watershed in a saddle between two hills, Walnut Hill and an unnamed knoll. The loop trail is an excellent doggie walk
in the woods with some wet portions and one moderately steep climb.
To get to the loop trail, drive to Walker street (no kidding) which is located about 1/10 mile east of Uhlman's ice cream stand on route 30 in Westborough, near the Southborough border. The parking lot for the Sawink Farm Reservation is about 1/2 mile north of route 30 at
N042 18.210 W071 34.927. If the lot is closed, typically in wet weather, park on the street. The lot has an information board which may have free maps. There are two entrances to the loop path: one requires about 0.7 miles to the cache and the other 0.3 miles. Your choice. In wet weather parts of the path may be muddy - bring corresponding footwear, and you might expect some mosquitos. After finding the cache, it is more interesting to continue on the loop trail back to the parking lot than to return the way you came. Note that the trail off the loop trail going north to Cedar Hill can be taken, but it terminates in about 1/4 mile and it is currently not possible to take it all the way to Cedar Hill. Also note that there are several places to cross the stone wall without climbing it, and be careful of the barbed wire. You may be tempted to bushwack but there is no need - you can stay on a trail virtually the whole time. In the summer, expect difficult GPS readings due to heavy tree cover.
The cache is a traditional ammo box with the usual assortment of interesting and worthless items.
