Geocache Description:

Park at Bruce Campground.

Some time ago, the valley you are standing in was covered with ice. In one of the Earth's global warming cycles, that ice began to melt. As it flowed with gravity, the ice tore at the sides of mountains and valleys. Large boulders were carried for great distances, and as these sank to the ice-Earth boundary, they scoured and scratched the rock strata beneath the glacial flow. Be sure to seek out glassy-smooth dark areas on the rock surface near this cache. There you can still find deep marks parallel to the valley that were made as the last glacier passed by. As all the ice melted, the boulders which made these scratches often settled upon a group of small stones. These balancing boulders are named 'Erratics.' Some of these can be found at the Falls View cache nearby.

The cache is an ammo can, about 6" by 7" by 11". There are numerous items in this cache; some trash, some treasure; it depends on what you need at the moment. There is also a cheap camera. Please take your picture in front of your favorite view, and return the camera to the cache. Make sure you mention in your web log that you took a picture so I will know when to develop the film, post the pictures on this webpage, and add a new camera.

Congratulations to: Lspman for finding this cache first!
