Fantastic hiking area with views of the city and planes going over it very close.
This is near Balboa Park. In fact you can see the back of the rose gardens from the cache site. There is a lot to park in, but it closes at 10pm. You can park in a different lot that's just a little east of the first lot any time. The treasure is very close to the trail and it's in a big ammo box so be VERY careful not to be seen with it. You can sit next to the cache and not be too seen, just be sure to cover your tracks because there are a lot of homeless around. Inside is a Tom Cruise video, a book,instant camera so I can see who came by, Maui souvenir coins,finger puppets, dinosaurs,paddle balls, green playdoh, black playdoh, lizards, and too much more to list... mainly because I lost the list going back up the trail... picking up way too many very cool rocks.... This is a great place for rock hounds or any other kind of hounds. Happy trails to you.
