Great place for a picnic on top of a mountain known for it's view. Make sure to hike up to Sherrard's Point and take in the view of 5 mountains.
UPDATE AUGUST 6, 2009: I have updated the coordinates for the cache to make it easier to find. Please note the new coordinates. Also, thanks to Klossner and Cowboy Bebop for replacing the log book with a temporary one. I will try to get a new logbook in the cache soon. You will need to bring a pen for now as the one in the cache dose not write.
I come up to this place at least once a month, it is one of my favorite places in the gorge. If you have ever been here before, then you know how busy this place can be and you may have to be very stealthy in retrieving and hiding the cache. Because of the popularity of the location, please make sure to hide the cache as well or better than before.
Cache is a 30mm ammo can. I had to take my best guess with the cache coordinates. I got several readings and the ones I listed put me consistantly within 10 feet of the cache. If you come up with better ones, please feel free to post them.
Also, the forest service charges $5.00 for parking up there, so bring a lunch, find a cache, and make an afternoon out of one of the best views in the Columbia River Gorge. If you have any of the forest passes you will be OK.
