Geocache Description:

This cache Showcases the great Harborcreek Community Park and involves two different twists from what GeoCachers are used to.

Harborcreek's premier outdoor sports complex has approximately 130 acres, which is located at Clark and Firman Roads, with parking and service buildings at the municipal complex on Route 20. Featured attractions: 12 baseball/softball diamonds, 3 regulation size soccer fields, little gridders football field complete with enclosed press/announcer’s booth and lighted, electronic score board. Also offering two completely furnished concession buildings and 3 restroom facilities. Harborfest, known far and wide mainly for it's Hot Air Balloon attractions is held here every year. And last, but not least, a great paved pathway around the entire complex for walking and/or biking. Visit Harborcreek Parks & Recreation Web Site for more information

The coordinate above is just for parking. You must figure out the cache coordinate by replacing the red XXX & ZZZ of the coordinate in the box below. To get to the Parking Area drive along Buffalo Road in Harborcreek and turn south onto Clark Road. Just over one mile later turn left onto Firman Road and you will quickly arrive at the parking lot again to your left. This park is open from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm and the gates are locked before and after those times so plan accordingly.

Actual Cache Coordinate...
N 42° 09.XXX W 79° 58.ZZZ

Your next step is to take an unusual little walk in the park itself. You will have to turn the Tracking of your GPS on & off at different times during this walk so look for the red OFF and ON at the end of several of the steps. Dig out the manual of your GPS if you're not sure how to do this. Some basic models (such as Magellans) may not have tracking so you may want to see if you can borrow one that does for this cache.

Remember to turn the tracking ON or OFF only after completing the instructions for that line. Turn OFF your Tracking now and follow these steps...

The following 3 sections will give you the XXX coordinates...

1- First walk through the yellow posts at the North end of the parking lot, head for the trees straight ahead of you, & stop.ON
2- Turn right & walk toward the White MacQuarries Pond Sign but stop a few feet before you reach the small ditch.
3- Turn right & walk up to the Gate in the fence of McQueeney Field.
4- Turn right, walk along the fence, & stop at the corner of the fence.
5- Turn right & walk back to the same spot next to the trees that you started at & stop.
OFF

1- Now turn right & walk all the way over to the MacQuarries Pond Sign & stop. ON
2- Turn around & walk back towards that same spot next to the trees but stop a few feet before the small ditch again.
3- Turn left & walk back towards that same gate in the fence again but stop in the middle of the paved path.
4- Turn left & walk along the paved path & stop when you are between the white pond sign and the McQueeney bleachers.
5- Turn right, walk right up to those bleachers, & stop.
6- Turn right & walk toward that same gate again but stop about 10 feet short of it.
OFF

1- Turn around and walk toward the Flag Pole but stop when you're aligned with the left field fence of McQueeney's Field. ON
2- Now continue on to the Flag Pole and past it. Stop at the bottom of the small hill.
3- Turn left & walk toward the #8 sign on the other side of the pond & stop on the paved path.
4- Turn left, walk along the paved path for about 26 paces, & stop.
5- Turn right & walk toward that #8 sign again & stop at the ponds edge.
6- Turn right, walk along the ponds edge for about another 26 paces, & stop.
OFF

The following 3 sections will give you the ZZZ coordinates...

1- Now walk around the pond counter-clockwise and stop at the largest tree on the opposite side. ON
2- Turn right & walk toward the yellow & brown dugout building next to the #8 sign but stop about 20 feet short of it.
OFF

1- Now turn right, walk over to the #8 sign, & stop. ON
2- Turn slightly to your right, walk toward the Yellow Foul Pole, & stop next to it . It's bent down to the ground right now.
3- Turn right & walk straight toward the wood shelter on the opposite side of the pond. Stop at the water's edge if you wish to stay dry.
OFF

1- Now turn left, walk along the ponds edge about 20 paces, & stop. ON
2- Walk towards scoreboard which is quite a distance away but to the NE. Stop at the fence or go 4 paces past if it's down.
OFF

You now have completed the first twist of this cache hunt and have the numbers required for the cache coordinate. Look at the map on your GPS to see them. North is up to see the numbers properly if you get confused. The easiest route to the cache is to first find the trail head. Add 64 to the North coordinate and Subtract 101 from the West coordinate to get the coordinate for the Trail Head.

Now you can continue on to find the cache and to discover the second twist involved in this cache hunt. Good luck!

The cache container is a green ammo box and the initial contents are... Mini Screwdriver set, Rain Poncho, Biz Card Holder, Various small toys, and a bunch of GeoCacher pins that I made. Please return the cache to the same spot you found it in. If you have any problem in doing so, just email me as I live fairly close by.
