This is a PHOTO CACHE. You MUST BRING A CAMERA.
The coordinates above take you to Jacks River Falls. From the parking area, you will hike ~3.4 miles along Beech Bottom Trail to reach the falls. In order to get credit for the cache, you must upload at LEAST two pictures of the falls when you post your log. Each of those pictures must be from a different coordinate position. There are four Photo Op coordinate positions to choose from:
Photo Op #1 - N 34° 58.315 W 084° 34.353
Photo Op #2 - N 34° 58.312 W 084° 34.365
Photo Op #3 - N 34° 58.300 W 084° 34.353
Photo Op #4 - N 34° 58.292 W 084° 34.352
If you wish, you can post more than just two photos, but you must have at least two to get cache credit. Take plenty of pics so you get at least two good ones.
I would have much preferred to place a Traditional Cache, but since traditional caches are banned in the Cohutta Wilderness a virtual is the best I can do. The view of the falls is WELL worth the hike. I recommend getting an early start and making a day of it. Take some sandwiches, snacks, and drinks and have a nice picnic lunch on the rocks as you enjoy the spectacular falls. If COLD water doesn't bother you, then take along your swimming suit too.
