Need a reason to go abuse yourself, then this cache is for you..go
up about 2500 vertical feet in about 2.5 miles (start at ~7k)(5
miles RT).
You end up overlooking Devils Kitchen , thus the name of
the cache..
Ok some may ask why here.. well there is a story behind that, but
you will have to email me if you really want to know.
This is a good cache for those who enjoying:
- going to the top of the incline
- hiking to Barr camp to get a drink of water
- running up Blodgett for a quick picture of Pikes Peak
- packing a head lamp & shell - regardless
The best way to start this cache is to follow the route for the
first leg of
Hidden Treasure and keep going up.. and up.. and up..
past where the trail ends, past the carens.. and you get to the
point where the only feeling of getting back to the car is total
and complete reliance on the GPS or a good map
The views are surprisingly incredible from the top and actually you
end up near the same elevation as Blodgett peak
If you are not experienced in back country navigation this might
make a good primer as you just enter the PNF wilderness
Now a new cache is near this one (hint) Cache container contains a
log book only - room to leave stuff you want, but not required.
A look at the location:
