This cache is located at the Sobieski Flowage. This Flowage is situated in the beautiful Flambeau River State Forest.
The Sobieski Flowage was once a privately owned cranberry marsh. In the 1973, the land was sold to the State of Wisconsin, and was converted to a habitat management area. Stop and read the plaque showing the location of the old cranberry beds, plantations, and hiking trails. Watch for ducks, geese, deer, and a possible bald eagle. Also, bring a fishing pole.
The cache is a plastic peanut butter jar with a blue lid. Its size is 3-1/2" diameter X 6-1/2" high. It contains:
golf ball
US flag pin
bottle opener
refrigerator magnet
log book and pencil
