Slate Quarry 2.5 miles each way, approx: 175 min walk, height
gained: 822 feet. Interesting scene and sights. Sensible footwear
required. Area is exposed so dress appropriately. Not buggy
friendly.
The cache is located at one end of the quarry buildings. Very interesting ruins and
waterfalls en route. Park at Tangrissau, N52 59.400 W 003 57.820
(go past dead end road signs). For the more energetic, you could
make this cache part of a walk up Cnicht (great views). If you do,
park at Croesor N52 58.922 W 004 02.372. Contents of tupperware
box: Simpsons Wristwatch, Aluminium torch, Light up animal pen,
Carabina keyring, Poolball keyring, Winman aluminium dart shafts,
Winman hologram dart flights, 20mm padlock and keys, Pack of mini
tinsel, Mini set of screwdrivers, "Walking with Beasts" book,
Piglet TB. Nearby places to visit include Portmerion, Porthmadog,
Beddgelert and Bleanau Festiniog. The Festiniog Steam Railway runs
through Tangrissau giving you another option on how to get there.
