Geocache Description:

The cache is located at the beginning of the "Old Indian Trail" and is hidden within the public right-of-way access path that leads to the beach, NOT on private property. You won't have to climb over fences or otherwise wander off the right-of-way. Parking is very close to cache site. Observe the private property and beach access signs to the South. Cache is a small ammo box.

This cache is located very near Three Tree Point in the Burien area.

As a young boy, I lived in the white house with the green roof to the South of the cache location and currently live about than a mile from there.

My sister found an Indian arrowhead close to the beach in front of our house in the late 1960's. During construction along the pathway to the water in the 1980's, other artifacts were unearthed and collected by the construction workers and local residents.

Although the main trail to the North was primarily developed in the 1920's to afford access to summer cottages, the moniker the "Old Indian Trail" stuck. It can be reasonably assumed that native inhabitants who lived in the area and left the arrowheads by the beach used various surrounding trails, perhaps even an earlier version of "The Old Indian Trail" for access to the Sound and adjacent areas.

I gave the cache a difficulty rating of 1 1/2 stars due to the fact there are often lots of people (scuba divers, beach combers, locals, etc.) coming and going in the general area.

After finding, logging your visit and carefully re-hiding the cache, feel free to walk up the stone stairs and hike or bike along the trail towards the North or take a stroll along the beach to the West. The trail does pass through private property so please leave no trace and be respectful.
