Geocache Description:

Welcome to the DeepOutdoors San Diego Sea to Sea Trail Foundation Geocaching Challenge! The Geocaching Challenge runs along the entire length of the San Diego Sea to Sea Trail.

NB. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS CACHE HAS BEEN MOVED TO THE NORTH SIDE OF THE TRAIL AND OUT OF THE ROCKS. DeepOutdoors has donated cool prizes for the 25 caches that are hidden along the Trail. The Challenge is being launched midnight June 6, to help celebrate National Trails Day on June 7.

So what do the caches look like? Believe it or not, they’re Underwater Kinetics' amazing #613 dry cases. They’re black (with a handle) and measure 13.4 x 8.9 x 5.6 inches. They also have the geocaching.com green & black ‘official geocache’ stickers on them. PLEASE DON’T TAKE THE CACHES! Please leave them for others.

So what’s in the caches? In every cache you’ll find a waterproof logbook, courtesy of Geocaching.com. Please write your discovery in the logbook. Every cache has an assortment of goodies – in 20 of the caches there are voucher prizes for DECO fleeces and Vital Access daypacks from DeepOutdoors. There are lots of extra goodies from REI and Magellan. AND, in two of the caches are two vouchers for the new all-color $500 Magellan Meridian GPS!

One of the caches may not have a logbook in it – sorry! (I found one left over.) Could you PLEASE let me know which one it is as soon as it’s found and I’ll get out and put it in.

One of the caches is a false trail – just to make it all that bit more interesting!

Do take photos! Send them in and we’ll devote a page on the Web site for them. And send in your hunting stories as well!

Here are the directions for the Trail. If you’re out in Anza-Borrego Desert (or anywhere for that matter), please take lots of water.

FINE PRINT: As always, please take care out there – it’s hot and there are snakes, cacti, poison oak etc. Thus, the Foundation and sponsors take no responsibility for any injuries (physically or psychologically!) that may occur while you are participating in the Challenge.

Good luck!

PS. While you're looking for this cache, please keep an eye out for K-Nic's digital camera. It has a piece of duct tape holding the batteries in.
