Temporary Caches for the picnic can be logged here.
The four temporary caches were
Lipton
ConcealMint
Lady in Red
Temporary Picnic Cache 1

All of the other caches for the day are now permament caches that can be logged on their own page.

Where: Fabyan Forest Preserve
When: Saturday, July 12 If you have an FRS for the day, set it to channel 2 Due to the possibility of HEAT in July, this picnic and the initial portion of the caching will start at 10:00 a.m. We can work up a good appetite before chowing down and telling our stories. Then we head out to find more caches! If we do end up at this preserve, there's about 25 active caches within a 5 mile radius. Plus more will be planted specifically for the event, many of which will remain permanently. There is no cost for attending the picnic - no entrance fee. All prizes and costs have been donated by cachers. This is a "bring your own food and drink" cookout.

Also, Spyderuser, Markwell and a few others will have laptops available to download the waypoints for the newly placed caches. If you have a data cable for your GPS, BRING IT!!!

Some notes from my advance guard scout:
  • Electricity works in the shelter
  • There is a water fountain nearby
  • There is a large grill nearby.
  • There is an outhouse right near by
  • There is some construction just north of the preserve on 25. Shouldn't be too bad on a Saturday morning but those coming from the north may want to come south on 31 or Kirk to Fabyan Parkway and then come up 25 north to the entrance (1/4 mile.)
