Geocache Description:

The difficulty and terrain ratings for this cache will change with the seasons. When it was placed it was harder to get to but easier to find. Later into the summer it will get easier to get to and harder to find. During the winter it will be very hard to get to and almost impossible to find!

The logbook contains an explaination of the cache name and the reason you should make this an overnight trip.

The cache is just off the Pacific Crest Trail. I parked at the Lost Lake Resort and went up the Huckleberry Trail. The Resort charges $6 for a day-use pass. But, if you plan to stay overnight up on the trail the lady at the booth where you pay said that I could park by the cabins and be sure to put my day pass where it could be seen. Just make sure you leave before 2 PM the next day. If you want to avoid the $6 charge, access the PCT from one of the other access points.

The reason the cache changes the rating for difficulty and terrain is this. When I placed it there was snow on quite a bit of the trail starting about 1 mile from the Huckleberry Trailhead, making the terrain more difficult. Also, when I placed the cache it was at about waist level. I couldn't tell for sure, but after the snow melts it will probably be about shoulder height. That's based on my 5ft. 8in. frame's waist and shoulders.

This hike will reward you with lots of beautiful wildflowers and some great views during the spring and early summer. Later in the year you will be rewarded with lots and lots of delicious huckleberries. During the winter you will be rewarded with... well... uhm... err... uhhh... what the heck are ya doin' out here in the winter!?

Anyway, the cache is a clear, waterproof(hopefully) tupperware-like container.
