Geocache Description:

The posted co-ordinates are for the old military prison on Griesbach, and have nothing to do with this cache; however, math, and GPSs or compasses do!! There is ample parking on a formerly busy area, and minimal bushwhacking; lots of bugs in the summertime!!

Having arrived at a waypoint with an alphanumeric designation, your compass and / or GPS skills will now come into play. Some GPSrs will convert degrees minutes to mils; if not, see the calculations below.
From this waypoint follow a bearing of 3605 mils for 238 meters.Check your Magnetic declination prior.
Be Careful when approaching through this area: watch for cars; although quiet, the area is used as ashortcut.
Mils to degrees conversion.
Canadian army units use mils as a navigational measurement, as opposed to degrees.
Because there are 6400 mils in a compass circle, this alleviates the need to further divide the normal degrees into minutes and seconds. [Imagine trying to do precise land navigation in the dark trying to dial in a bearing of 32 deg, 10 min 2 sec.This roughly translates into 0570 mils].
1 degree = 17.78 mils
1 mil = 3 min 22. 5 seconds [3’ 22.5”]
10 minutes = 3 mils
Our Cache contains: Logbook, Stashnote, pencils, ‘Army” stickers, some plastic Disney toys, a bunch of PPCLI badges, Regimental VP buttons, an old ‘Patricias’ collar dog, other assorted badges, a glowstick, and a mini-bungee cord;
The container is a clear 2 liter recycled margerine container.
The log book is in a ziplock “Biohazard” bag: don’t be alarmed,
I borrowed it from the base clinic.
The logbook is big enough to, as the name suggests, leave behind “Oodles o’ Doodles”.
