Geocache Description:

Terrain difficulty only at very end of hunt.

This is another cache located on the Genesee Valley Greenway, hence the name, “Barge Right In.” This is also a great party spot for the kids so there may be some trash that lingers from the night before. I have met some of the kids who have come back the next day to clean it up. Bring bug spray if you go in the summer. Although the final cache is winter accessible, it will be rather difficult to find under snow cover.

Your first stop at the above coordinates will be a cemetery. You are looking for Margaret Delano’s grave. It is located near the pine tree closest to the road. (Beware, the inscription on her stone is quite difficult to see unless viewed at a certain angle.) I believe this woman to be the great grandmother of Laura Ingalls Wilder of “Little House in the Big Woods” fame. To get to the next location, substitute the last digit of her birth year for “A”, and the last digit in the year of her death minus 6 for “B”.

At this second location, you are going to look for Joseph Patterson’s headstone. He was a Civil War Vet, and its location is near the “roofed” monument next to one of the driveways. Exercise caution when exiting the cemetery, oncoming traffic may be hard to see. To get to the next location, substitute the last digit of his age for “C”. Next, subtract “1” from the last digit of the year of his death and substitute this number for “D”.

Before you get to this next location, park at N42 16.611 W078 13.007 where one of the GVG trailheads begins. You may hike, bike, or ski, depending on the conditions. By the way, you’re also on your way to the “In Tow” cache.

Caution: there are some dangerous places at this next location…watch children. You can bushwhack directly to the cache by going down a STEEP trail about 30 feet to the right of the "gate". Or you can follow the path to the NW and down. It may be slippery if wet, and hard to find if it's grown up, but it's there. Also, you will have to bend/crawl under overgrowth. Once at the bottom, you are now on level with the loot. Here are the coords: 42 16.7A1 by 078 12.6C8. The loot is in a retired 50 cal. ammo box.

Good luck, pay particular attention to the clues, cover your tracks, and happy hunting.
