They called it the "Walgamott-Sullaway Road" I set this cache at the Intersection of " The North Alternant Oregon Trail" and the "Walgamott-Sullaway Road"
When you reach this Intersection you will see white poles saying the" North Alternant Oregon Trail" you can still see wagon ruts in the gullies. The Walgamott-Sullaway Road went from" Shoshone City" to" Shoshone Falls" it was a 25 mile trip. They had a used 11-passenger stage coach and a good team ,they used 10 or 15 wild mustangs,to pull the coach. This was the first tourist attraction in southern Idaho to see Shoshone Falls in 1882 . Charlie Walgamott and Joe Sullaway also had the first Fairy service at "Shoshone Falls" To learn more about Charlie ,read the book "Idaho and the Magic Circle" Good Hunting. Al,Charlie&Maggie The cache contents are. Log sheet,lizard,south-padre island sea shells, rubber coin holder and Gold dollar.I am facinated by this area - here's a quote from one of the pioneers who traveled this route:
Overton Johnson:
-This is, perhaps the most rugged desert and dreary country between the borders of the United States and the shores of the Pacific. It is nothing less than a wild rocky barren wilderness, or wrecked and ruined nature, a vast field of volcanic desolation."
