As the story goes there was a traveling salesman named J.S. Jacobs that passed away in Lincoln in 1891 at 42 years of age. Inscribed on the stone you will find the passage "Here is where he stopped last".
In honor of his service as a traveling salesman his tombstone was made to look like a suitcase.
