This cache is located in the White Memorial Foundation property
which offers year round activities. In Winter it has many trails
that are perfect for cross country skiing. In the warmer months you
can hike or ride mountain bikes on the same trails, or canoe or
kayak down the river to Bantom Lake.
Although the cache can be reached from a nearby road, it is
recommended that you enter the park and find it from there. The
park entrance is at N.41°43.838 W.73°13.022 The
Nature Trail will take you directly
to the cache. You can enter the trail at its
endN.41°43.486 W.73°12.693 or follow the signs to the
beginning. It is a short walk through some truly magnificent
climax forest. Also within walking distance of this cache is
Bantom River Cache
It has been brought to my attention that
this cache lies within a "sensitive area" and in accordance with
recent changes in park regulations, must be moved. However, with
the recent horrific rise in gas prices it is not within my best
interest to drive up to White Memprial Park to relocate
it.
I AM THEREFOR ASKING THE NEXT GEOCACHER WHO
FINDS THIS CACHE TO PLEASE TAKE IT. WHEN I SEE IN THE LOG THAT IT
HAS BEEN REMOVED I WILL ARCHIVE IT. I AM HOPING THAT IT WILL BE PUT
TO GOOD USE AT ANOTHER LOCATION.
Please understand that I have no animosity
toward the park or its employees as the new regulations are very
reasonable and are designed to protect the environment that we all
love.
