Update: 7/10/20 Since the wilderness area was expanded, I realize this cache is still in a wilderness area. If I can find it when I go back this fall, I'll post an update, possibly moving it across the Cranberry to nearby Snakeden Mountain, which is also a difficult location. :-D I originally placed this cache much closer to its namesake, Hell for Certain branch of the Middle Fork of the Williams River. But after I placed it I realized it was in a Wilderness Area, so I moved it a bit farther off. The current location is off the Little Fork Trail in the Monongahela National Forest. The quickest way to get to the cache is to park at the trail head near the Williams River (N38/20.191-W80/22.443), but this approach requires quite a few stream crossings, which are almost impossible when the river is up. If you try this after a heavy rain, it will certainly be HELL getting there. The other approach avoids streams altogether, but requires a much longer hike. You can get to the trail via the North-South Trail, starting at the main Cranberry River campground near the lower gate (N38/19.403-W80/26.355). The North-South Trail is also known as the Red and Black Trail on some topo maps. These trails are often strenuous and probably not for children, so please be advised. This is a beautiful and remote area and well worth the hike. I noticed after logging this cache that the Topozone map has it slightly off of the real location. I was getting somewhat erratic readings when I placed it, but you should be able to find it by decoding the hint and checking the photo. Feedback appreciated.Original contents are as follows:
