I don't know much about the history of this plane wreck, but this is what I have heard. It happened on September 15, 1944 at 3:30 in the morning. It was very cloudy. They had taken off from Bakersfield, California and were enroute to Albuquerque, New Mexico. They were on a navigation training mission. They had miscalculated their position by 15 miles and ran into the mountain. There were 8 persons on board, a pilot instructor, 4 student pilots, 2 engineers and a radio operator. They were all killed on impact. If you know any of the history behind this site, please share it with others by posting it in your log.
