Cache is close to Maupin, Oregon. This should be a relatively easy cache for you to log and stretch your legs on your trip. Enjoy!
I planted this one on a long car drive back from camping. I really like this area and wanted to place this cache at least ‘pseudo’ in the middle of no where. My intent was to place it as a cache to grab after you’d been driving for a bit. I didn’t realize I was quite so close to Maupin when I placed it.
Ahh well… it’ll still be a good place to stretch your legs! Besides there are not exactly a TON of caches in this immediate area! ;-)
While you’re in the area, check out the city of Maupin. They have some really good white water rafting trips that originate here. I got tossed out of my kayak a few times when I went last summer, but it was still a riot. There’s also a great ice cream place… can’t remember the name though.
Here’s the important details… this cache is a ‘magnetic’ microcache (this should be a hint) so plan your trade accordingly. The initial cache contents are a log and three GeoNap wooden nickels (please be sure to bring your own writing utensil).
This one should be a pretty easy drive by cache for you on your way through the area. Just be careful with the traffic, find a good spot to park before you go after the cache.
