Geocache Description:



No route is given. You can make it an illegal drive-in, or maybe you'll check out the organized hikes by the Eifelverein. In the latter case, route number 41 leads along both points needed to find the stash (Wanderkarte 33). It's your call.
Coordinates are noted with four decimals in the minute part, for accuracy reasons. Datum WGS84. Angles given from true north. There's an abundance of parking space near the given coordinates. Point A lies at a very walkable distance of 189 meters.


You can find Point A at:
N 50° 2.6600'
E 6° 43.2281'

Four smiths on top, and ten workers below. You now are in the heart of Eisenschmitt. Find the year Y (other than the year 1989), displayed on the monument.
The angle D (in degrees) from point A to the stash is:
D = (Y + 22) / 75

Note that D contains one decimal. Rounding up to the next integer, results in a difference of about 8 meters at the stash's location. Use of spoiler pics makes this error less than marginal.
The year Y can be seen as the 4 digit number: defg.

For example, if Y would be 1975, then: d=1, e=9, f=7, g=5.
Now calculate the following, in order to find point B:
a = d + g
b = d + f
c = d + e + d


You can find Point B at:

E 6° 43.fbcg'

Find the year Z, in which the chapel was built.
The distance M (in meters) from point B to the stash is:
M = (Z + 38) / 4

Based on the information you now have, there are still two possibilities left for the stash location. Therefore, the final piece of information given is the following:
The stash lies North of point B.


You're looking for an ammobox, hidden under some stones behind a fir tree.
When approaching, aim for the second fir on the right. It's not far from the path.
