WindrÅÅs.
De Drunense en Loonse Duinen zijn sinds enkele jaren een
Nationaal Park in eigendom van Natuurmonumenten.
Naast de bekende stuifzanden –de grootste van Europa- zijn er
ook uitgebreide bossen. Het zand werd hier afgezet in de ijstijd en
werd in de middeleeuwen door ontbossing en begrazing tot stuifzand.
Het vormt +/- een derde van het totaal oppervlak.
Met een oppervlakte van 2389ha. is dit gebied groot genoeg om te
verdwalen, wat dan ook regelmatig gebeurt.
Overigens kunnen in natte periodes lage delen onder water komen
te staan.
Door de status van Nationaal Park zijn er nogal wat regels ter
bescherming van het gebied, de flora en de fauna.
Ik wil hierbij m.n. wijzen op vrije wandeling op de
paden. En fietsen alleen op de fietspaden en de gemarkeerde
mtb-route. Voor deze laatste dient u een sticker aan te schaffen
bij VVV of de restaurants rondom het gebied (€4 a 5).
N.B.:
Conform bovenstaande windroos werden de Noord-, West-, Zuid- en
Oostpunten exact op de Nà Z-
en de Oà W-assen geplaatst.
Ook de maatvoering is exact!
En op alle punten vind u informatie die u later nodig zult
hebben.
Alleen de informatie tezamen met het windrooslogo - zoals in
deze tekst gebruikt - op een groene achtergrond is de door
mij gehanteerde !! Andere plaatjes - helaas is dit gebeurd - liefst
verwijderen !
De route heeft een lengte van minimaal 7,5 km.
Parkeren op: N 51 40.000 E 005 08.647.
Start op : N 51 39.953 E 005 08.539 , alwaar u -
onder een tegel - verdere informatie vind over de route.
Houd u svp. aan de parkregels. Ik heb het ook gedaan!
N.B.:21-6-2007: het is helaas wel zo dat sinds de start
van deze route er enige veranderingen optraden, waardoor een enkel
pad nog moeilijk of niet meer herkenbaar is als pad. Dit geldt
mn. bij wpts. Centrum en Finale.
De enige andere uitzondering vormt de cacheplaats: deze ligt
namelijk op privegrond, maar wel binnen het park. De eigenaar heeft
mij toestemming gegeven.
Tenslotte: graven, prikken e.d. zijn niet nodig, hoogstens wat
bladeren verplaatsen.

This area called "de Drunense en Loonse Duinen" is a National
Park owned by Natuurmonumenten. It consists of large drift sands in
combination with forests. The drift sands are among Europe’s
largest. The sands date from the ice ages winds and were turned
into drift sands in the middle ages by cutting down the forests and
grazing of cattle. The drift sands cover about one third of the
parks 2389 ha.. This is large enough to get lost , which happens
from time to time. In very rainy periods lower parts of the park
tend to be under water.
Being a National Park there are a number of rules to protect the
area, its flora and its fauna.
Most important in this case is the limitation of walking to the
paths only. Next to a limitation of cycling to the lanes and mtb to
the marked trail. For the latter there is an obligatory sticker,
which is available (€4 a 5) at the tourist offices and the
restaurants around the park.
N.B.:
Conform the above compass rose the North-, West-, South- and
Eastpoints are located exactly on the
Nà S- and the
Eà W-lines.
Also, measuring is conform!
At all points you will find some information needed later
on.
Information is only given on stickers accompanied with the shown
compass rose logo printed on mossgreen paper !! You are
kindly requested to remove any other stickers !(Alas, there have
been placed others by ? )

The only exceptions I made was at wpts. Centrum and Finale where
in time the path has disappeared and at the cachesite: this land is
privately owned, but within the parklimits. The owner has granted
permission.
Last: no digging or piercing and such are necessary, may be some
moving of leaves.
