The Peace Cache is near the Leverett Peace Pagoda on the top of Jackson Hill. Ammo Box is in woods East of Pagoda.
Find the driveway to the Peace Pagoda at 100 Cave Hill Road. Parking lot is at 42 29.812N 072 29.740W. Short uphill hike on dirt road (no cars) to Pagoda (follow signs). Trailhead starts at NE corner of old temple slab at 42 29.936N 072 29.411W, however, cache is not on any recognizable trail.
Cache is regular green ammo box with one side painted orange. Contains small kid stuff items, yoyos, pokemon cards, and some good music CDs (DEAD, Kahoots, Jorma, John Cohen), some hippy-style jewelry, and to start off a new copy of the Mass NH&ESP Field Guide to Vernal Pools. The box is very well hidden.
The Peace Pagoda is an awesome place! Please respect the peaceful location. Nice ponds with frogs and goldfish. Great place to explore and have a picnic lunch.
