How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

The search will take you along a public footpath crossing the edge of a 40acre field to the north of Blackmore village, Essex.
Which has a number of large paddocks with horses in residence.

You are looking for an army ammunition can.

Parking can normally be found at the village hall:
N51 41.710 E0 18.839
This puts you within Quarter of a mile of the cache.

WARNING:WARNING:WARNING. Did I say WARNING.
Please read:

If any of your group have a fear of all things Equine then this cache may be best avoided.
Reason being:
The footpath follows the edge of a field which is broken into a number of large paddocks occupied and grazed by horses.
Since we planted the cache the Paddocks have since been bought right up to the edge of the footpath, in the lower part it is barely wide enough for two people.
In wet conditions the footpath is disgusting, WEAR WELLIES.

It MUST be mentioned that the paddocks are guarded by electric fencing, and on our recent visit proved live, so keep a watchfull eye on little ones if they look like they are wandering a bit close, or want to say hello to the horses.
And make sure any Dogs don't come into contact with it.

Also--the cache site itself is a bit.. No! very thorney, you may find gloves a very handy thing to have with you.
But great for Blackberry picking during the season.
At top of footpath A stile has also been put in place, and is not very buggy friendly so bear that in mind on your visit.
Whole cache experience sounds scarey doesn't it.LOL.
