Geocache Description:

Located in a land trust area with various types of trails/paths.

We hid our first cache at a spot where we spent a lot of time when we were kids. Back then it was basically an abandoned boyscout camp and school with lots of cottages and summer houses on the property. there was also an empty mansion and chapel on the grounds as well as a lake full of fish. no one paid any attention to it and the entire area was considered part of the old camp area. unfortunately the developers didn't see it that way and built too many houses on a significant part of the land. what was left was officially made into something called a "land trust" with no access to the lake. It is still a beautiful area, with lots of trails and wildlife.
Enter off of Pleasant valley road by the sign for the Schiff Nature area and find the parking lot (40-45.208/74-37.492) . Don't park in the residential neighborhood. The hike from the parking lot to the cache is a little more than 1.5 miles round trip. Look for the red trail, the cache is located near the top of the hill. Just beyond the cache is clearly posted Private property-Please respect the neighbors. Enjoy the views.
Cache is an ammo box with a few different things in it.

The coordinates should be good, but let me know if you find otherwise.

thanks for finding our cache.
