Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Charleston Pioneers Historial Marker

This is a Historical Virtual Cache

I used to be too busy to stop and read Historical Markers. Since I started caching I've learned a lot more about local history.

Historical Fact:
Charleston Utah got its name from William Winterton and a friend. Reportedly they gave Charleston its name when a postman who delivered the mail by horseback from Provo to Heber said, "If you boys would give me a name for this place I could bring the mail to you." After discussing several names they decided they liked Charleston the best.

To log this cache:

You will need to physically visit the geocache location and take a picture of the monument with the kettle in the picture. The kettle picture must include either 1) yourself (aka,a selfie), or 2) if you prefer privacy, a scrap of paper with your caching name clearly and visibly written on it.
