This should be a fun and
fairly easy two part multi cache.
Part one can be done as either -
quickly solve the clue and dash across the one quarter mile to find
the cache and sign the log - or - take the time to look at and read
everything and take some pictures. This first part is suitable for
ages 99 and under. If you decide to do only part one, you can enter
a note instead of found it as your log. History buffs will
especially enjoy part one of this two part multi
cache.
Find the years James W. Dye was
born and died; enter them to the formulas...
41 30256
87 28306
+ xxxx (year born)
+ xxxx (year died)
----------
-----------
41 3x.xxx
87 3x.xxx
Then using these new latitude
and longitude head off to find part two and the not quite micro
cache (4" square container), which should be about 1/4 mile away. I
couldn't fit much in the small container, but have filled it with
some patriotic items, (flags and stickers).
You may choose to drive to the
2nd parking area or cross the busy street at the
crosswalks.
The parking for the first part
is entered from the side street.
I spotted about 300 birds the
day that I placed the cache. You will understand why when you get
there.
08/18/03 - changed the clue to
make it much easier to find with the vegetation of the
summer.............
07/03/04 - replaced cache and
relocated to a different area.......
