Geocache Description:

Fairy Stone Farm Wildlife Management Area is a part of the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries

You can't grow any Fairy Stones on this farm - but the VA DGIF has developed a wonderful wildlife management farm where the visitor will be delighted with an abundance of beauty.

Walk quietly and stealthily and you might be treated to a view of deer, turkey, waterfowl, and a myriad of reptiles, insects, and amphibians in the wetlands, fields and forest. Flowers and wild fauna abound throughout the warm seasons creating a burst of colorful hiding dens for rabbit and small creatures if you are patient to sit and wait for them to peek out in curious query.

This area is a wildlife watchers delight. It is little known and rarely used except by some locals who utilize it for hunting so please take special note of the following: WARNING~ SEPTEMBER 1 TO JANUARY 15 YOU MUST WEAR BLAZE ORANGE. HOWEVER...SUNDAYS ARE SAFE DAYS - NO HUNTING PERMITTED. Special care has been taken to allow the cache hunter to stay on the main trail with the exception of the last 25 yards.

Cache is an 8 inch square clear plastic box with white lid and contains: gloves, safety whistle, fairystone, superglue, sunglasses, boxcutter, butterfly, mirror picture frame, camera, TracksOwl magnet, a surprise for Lyra, and a few other odds and ends.
