Description:
The 4th of July. What a fantastic holiday. Fireworks, Apple Pie,
homemade Ice Cream, and baseball are just a few things that come to
mind. It is also a day that I take time to remember my father, John
L. Brown who died in 19XX of Liver Cancer, since the 4th of July
was his birthday. Because of this, my siblings and I decided to
dedicate this cache in his memory.
John L. Brown was born July 4th, 1938 in Little Rock Arkansas to
Mr. and Mrs. Columbus C. Brown. When my Father was an infant, my
Grandfather brought his family of 3 at the time north to Washington
State where he hoped to find employment in the fruit industry. They
Settled into Cowiche, WA and that is where my father attended
public school where he later graduated in 1956. After his
graduation from high school, he served in the U.S. Army, as a
mechanic, which he was well suited for. I still remember a
conversation with my mother about my dad's Army days. She said as
my dad put it, "There were those who rode, and those who walked and
he was not going to be one of the walkers". For 3 years my dad did
exactly that; he drove. In fact he became the Colonels personal
driver, which took him to many places such as Hawaii, Thailand, and
Cambodia.
After the stint in the service he returned home, where he later
met and married Linda Cooper of Naches. Eventually my father and
mother purchased a home right across from Applewood park where they
later raised their family of 3.
Everyone who knew my father might say that he was quite a
well-rounded person. He worked as a construction worker for United
Builders of Yakima for over 23 years, and He was also a volunteer
firefighter for the Town of Naches for the past 20 plus years. If
you ever attended the Naches Sportsman’s day parade, then you
definitely would remember his creativity. With the aid of a local
Nazarene preacher, John Hahn, they created the famous wheely car
that did donuts, and popped wheelies down the street of Naches for
many, many past years. Dad was also an avid fisherman, and hunter
and some of the fondest memories I have of him are the times we use
to spend steelheading on the Klickitat, or hunting deer and elk in
the Nile Valley. In fact we were planning on doing a lot more of
this until he developed liver cancer and passed away at such an
early age.

you to search for the clues at his graveside to unlock the location

Take the result and head west A number of rows. You'll need
