Ripapa View (Canterbury) Traditional Cache
Sallies: We have been out on the peninsula today and began the day by looking for this cache. However it was our only DNF for the day! We have decided to archive the cache and leave this site open for someone else.

The cache is situated just off the Cliff Edge track. From here you are looking straight out to Ripapa Island and beyond that to the Lyttelton Heads.
Even though it was clear and sunny we had a great deal of trouble determining accurate coordinates for this cache so we hope that they are accurate enough to make it reasonably easy to find. The snow all around us on the hills was a beautiful sight and this was a lovely walk in crisp conditions.
The cache is a 200ml camo-painted snap-lock type container. When hidden it contained some brightly coloured pens, a screwdriver and logfiles, pencil and sharpener. There is not much room inside the container.
We walked out from Stoddarts Point reserve - taking the track towards the jetty and turning into the Cliff Edge Track at S43 37.375 E172 44.281.
The cache is in the rock formation between the seat on the track (a good place to sit and write up the log!) and the lone, large pine tree on the edge of the cliff.
