Lime Rock Nature Preserve: Part of the Nature Conservancy. "Rhode Island's most extensive outcropping of marble."
The parking area entrance coordinates are N.41 degrees 55.308 minutes and W.071 degrees 28.060 minutes. There are informative signs at this entrance only. An acceptable alternative entrance with parking area is at N.41 degrees 56.024 minutes and W.071 degrees 28.423 minutes.
When the entrance path from Wilbur Road gets muddy, use the adjacent dry path on the left bank.
Plastic container is a cube with 8" sides and a red lid. Original contents are a log book with pens & pencil; a geocaching info card; a disposable camera; paints and various brushes; new work gloves; a lock with keys; a baseball game; a flashlight keychain; skateboard key chains; clip hangers; Pluto; Bugs Bunny; and Oshari Travel Bug.
If you have enough time, enjoy lovely closeup views of the pond, expecially from its outlet; complete the loop around the pond; and try some of the side paths.
Poison ivy and briars are not a problem, but use mosquito repellant.
