This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit, because . The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Guidelines.

I've bookmarked this cache, and I will check back in two weeks or so to be sure that the maintenance has been done or at least a note posted here indicating your intentions. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can re-enable the listing. If no note is posted, I may be forced to archive the listing.

Geocache Description:

A short walk off of a trail on Mackinac Island near some of the tourist attractions. It's probably best to ride a bike up the island but walking works too. Rated a 2.5 only because we had to walk our bikes up a couple hills when heading up to hide the cache (one rider is only 6 though).

The cache is a 6lb. Oxiclean bucket. It's name is one of the best clues to it's hiding place. We wanted to make it sorta easy to find in case others have kids as impatient as ours :-) Original contents are: static cling American flag, marine quality American flag stickers, arm band jogging radio, toy basketball game, two 7-hour hand warmers, saftey tips flip chart, polished rock, overhead projector pen, nylon rope, straw hat, toy pteradactyl. My gps was a little squirrely due to tree cover but it's hidden in a pretty obvious place so if you're close you shouldn't have trouble finding it. UPDATE 4/26/10 I PLACED THIS CACHE ALMOST 7 YEARS AGO. IT'S STILL THERE BUT I DON'T MAINTAIN IT (can't get there regularly anymore). MICHIGAN STATE PARKS CONTACTED ME AND SAID I NEEDED A PERMIT AND WAS REQUIRED TO PAY A FEE OR THEY WOULD REMOVE IT. I TOLD THEM IT WAS OKAY TO REMOVE THE CACHE.....THEY NEVER DID. SORRY ALL!
