A tree lined drive leads the visitor back in time to the boyhood home and later summer residence of W.C. Bryant, 1794-1878, one of America's foremost literary figures. It is set on a hilltop lookng over the valley of the Westfield river. It is on the list historic places and privately owned. It is open in the summer as a house museum.
Cache container is a 1"x 3" green tube, with a small log book and pencil, no room for trade items.
In the back of a field on the right side of road,is a sign post that explains the title of cache and a poem.
Cache is across the road from sign post under a flat rock in the rock wall. Do not move any rocks.
5/21/2016 pictures. Except for more die off, this is how the tree looked in 2003. Trunk has always been on the ground and the tree is still living. You can see the leaves on the right of the tree. If you click on the image you can almost see the pine cones hiding the cache!
