Deer Lake is a one of the main interchanges in the Province of Newfoundland, seeing traffic from north, south, east, and (to a degree) west cross through in one direction or another.
It is also a spot where a well earned stretch can work wonders for stiff muscles and bleery-eyed drivers!
So...swing through, pick up some dinner or coffee, check on your gas, oil, and windshield washer fluid...and score an easy cache!
There is an excellent Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism Information Centre on the highway - pull in and check your co-ordinates. You'll discover that you'll have a quick 5 minute trot (3 if flies are heavy) to find the cache!
The cache is a large cammo-painted bucket, well hidden at the base of a clump of trees away from the trail. Please make sure the lid is on tight, and the cache well hidden.
Enjoy the stretch and the info-stop!
Cheers,
