3.5 mile walk around two reservoirs, collecting info on the way.
This delightful walk round Dove Stone and Yeoman Hey reservoirs, in the Peak District National Park, is ideal for those who want a short, easy stroll in superb surroundings.
Yeoman Hey was the first reservoir to be built in this valley in 1880. Greenfield was the next in 1902, with Dove Stone, the newest being constructed in 1967. All three reservoirs, together with a fourth, in the Chew Vally, supply water to the towns and villages in Oldham and Thameside.
The cache is specifically designed with doggies in mind. The walk is fairly flat and easy, but could be a little muddy after rain. There are some sheep around.
This is a three part cache, with two micro caches, contained in white pill boxes with red screw tops, the first one gives the co-ordinates to the second - the second gives the co-ordinates of the main traditional cache.
The cache contains:
Doggie purse.
Doggie shower gel.
Fridge magnet.
Food fork.
Dog food tin opener.
Pongo Fresh air thingy.
Torch for midnight walkies.
Travel Cow TB.
