The Horse-Lover's Cache Traditional Cache

This cache is within the "Otter Creek Horse Trails", an extensive network of trails maintained by the DEC. Because of its location, this cache is a 'horsey' one.
This cache is meant to be an easy introduction to the great network of hiking, horseback riding, mountain-biking and cross-country skiing opportunities found in the Otter Creek Horse Trail System. For those not familiar with the trails (over 50 miles of trails to explore on the western edge of the Adirondacks), there are several maps located within this cache. Other maps can be found at the Assembly Area, follow the DEC signs directing you into the main trailhead of the Trail System. Maps are at the Registration billboard at the first camping/stable loop.
This cache is horse-themed, with handy trading goods found in a standard, green ammo can. The cache is starting out with folding hoof picks, braiding combs, key chains, horse brush, blu-kote, rain poncho, horse stickers and toy horse (for the younger horse lover), dog treats for the family friend, Wunder sponge and a couple other items that are more related to camping (playing cards, hot cocoa, a good summer read).
A log book is included, so please log your visit even if you don't want to trade horse/camping items.
Directions to Otter Creek: From NYS #12 turn east to Glenfield, NY follow DEC signs to Greig Road, turning onto Pine Grove Road, onto Erie Canal Road and park at Confusion Flats on the Sand Pond Road.
