The Forest Service road leading to the cache can be accessed two
ways.
The much longer way is to drive up HWY 165 and through the
Evan's Creek ORV area and then drive down the mountain to the
cache. The road is in fairly bad shape at this end with many ruts
and rocks in the road. This route is usually closed in the winter
due to snow.
The FS road to the cache can also be accessed much more quickly
and easily by driving on the Fairfax Forest Reserve Road (also
called the Carbon River Road) along the Carbon River. From this
end, the FS road getting to the cache is fairly steep but still can
be traveled by any car or other 2-wheel drive vehicle and is
usually accessible year round except after a very heavy
snowfall.
The cache is near a bridge but NOT under the bridge. The
container is a green ammo box. Please sign the logbook and feel
free to trade items if you wish. Then please put the cache back
EXACTLY how you found it.
Elevation at the cache is approximately 2500 feet.
Satellite reception can be poor in this area. This is the reason
for the 3 stars for difficulty.
