The Pura Puncak Mangu temple on the top of Gunung Catur (2096 m).
A beautifull but demanding hike to the top of Gunung Catur. You can park your car at Taman Rekreasi Bedugul. From the water sport area, a trail around the south side of the lake goes to Goa Jepang (Japanese Cave), dug during WWII. (S08-16.995 E115-10.585).
Next to the cave (on the right side facing the cave) there is a trail going in the jungle. After about 10 meters you come to the trail going up to the temple. The hike starts very easy, but the last part is very steep. The trip will take you about 2 to 3 hours to get to the top and another 1 to 2 hours to get back down.
Take a picture of the temple and your gps and upload this t oprove you have been there.
(Me and my wife walked this trail on our holiday to Bali. Although the temple at the top is nothing special, the hike itself really is. Using a guide is not neccesary. By placing this virtual cache we hope to make the trip even more interesting for all geocachers out there!)
