This virtual cache is set up to guide you to a viewing point of the Gros Ventre Slide. It is an easy drive just a short distance from Jackson, Wyoming and Grand Tetons National Park. The road is well marked on most local maps and travels along the Gros Ventre River which offers great moose viewing. However, be on the lookout for moose and cattle because sections of the road are open range. There are several signs at the location describing the slide and several of events related to the slide.
To get credit for this site you need to complete the last part of the sentence that starts with "May 18, 1927, part of the dam gave way and a wall of water, mud, and rock flowed down the ..." You need to send/email me the last four words of that sentence and the total number of people that drowned to get credit. Thats right, a two parter.
