Geocache Description:

It was the best of ties, it was the worst of ties. The history of the rails has showcased the best and worst of private enterprise, the best and worst of government regulation and the best and worst of class struggles. As for the labor movement, while rail unions may not have encapsulated the absolute best and worst of times, they came close.

This steam engine was built in 1906. By then, engines could be constructed to burn coal, wood or oil.
To log this cache, email me your answers to these questions: Where was it built, and what fuel did it burn?

Families with small children will enjoy the park surrounding the locomotive. A sign requests you do not climb in or on the locomotive, but you’re welcome to use the jungle gym nearby. (In a less litigious society our kids might be able to experience the real thing. But this is America.)
