Tribute to a Malamute...
The advisor's eleven-year-old Alaskan Malamute is mascot for the Lakeside High School Hiking/Geocaching Club. Although semi-retired, he is also proficient as a therapy dog, and skilled at tracking (following a preset American Kennel Club course and finding & presenting objects) and trailing (search and rescue). However, his favorite activity is geocaching; hence, this cache is dedicated to our club’s favorite, very hairy hiking companion. By the way, the Mal recommends “trailing” all the way.
This is definitely a dog-friendly area, but please keep dogs leashed. Also, be warned: although dogs love mud, humans may not, so wear boots.
Don’t forget the bug spray!
Please park your car OUTSIDE the gate at the
Cedarquist Park/Little League Fields complex
(N 41 52.483 W080 46.923),
and walk across the street to Indian Trails
(N 41 52.466 W 080 46.905).
The cache is a rubbermaid container holding log book, pens, and school supplies like pens, pencils, stickers, index cards, markers, and one eraser (because cachers don’t make many mistakes). Don’t forget that this cache was set up by a high school group. First finder is welcome to the entire pack of post-it notes.
Note: There are numerous trails in this area. Many of them lead to the Ashtabula River, and you are invited to enjoy some stone-skipping fun.
Thanks for visiting our cache.
Remember: cache in; trash out
