Rinearson Slough Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

supermoe: After being notified that several folks could not find this cache, took a trip out there today. The area is overgrown and a large tree has fallen in the area where the cache was hidden. We looked and looked and even though we knew what to look for and where to look, it appears it is gone. It was my first cache and lasted more than 10 years. Thanks to everyone who came by.

Geocache Description:

Cache is near the Columbia River and Rinearson Slough. An easy walk of about 3/10ths of a mile along a gravel road.

This cache is a large ammo can. The original contents were: Sand Art, Toy Train, Railroad Spike, Waterproof bag, Train engineers hat, harry potter trading cards, and a GOOHF card.

This cache is also the starting point for the TB Stinky Pete, who wishes to go somewhere he can prospect.

In blackberry season you'll want to bring a pail, the road is lined with berries.

If your so inclined, there is some great fishing in the slough and along the sandbar on the Columbia River.

The tracks on which the Lewis & Clark expedition train runs are nearby. It goes through just before 10am and just before 7pm.

There is no need to go near or over the tracks. The cache is located on the SOUTH side of the sandpile (opposite side from the tracks).
