Geocache Description:

In Chinese folklore there is a story about a mischievous monkey who traveled between Heaven and Earth always causing trouble wherever he went. Eventually this monkey was imprisoned. The monkey was later released into the custody of a Buddhist monk. This cache is named for that legendary monkey.

If you want to find out more about this story, do a search on google on "Monkey King" or "Journey to the West".

If you want to find out about the monkey online here are a couple of resources:

The book is also available from Amazon.

Okay, onto the cache stuff.

The area:
Be careful of rattlesnakes. A decent set of hiking boots wouldn't hurt. There is some construction going on at the west side of the area, but the cache is far enough and secluded enough to make trades and signed the log.

Container:

The container is a clear plastic jar with a red lid. The name of the cache is clearly marked on the side. On the top you will again see the name of the cache and a monkey attached to the top of the lid. Please don't remove the monkey. And after you make your trades, hide the container in the same manner.

The initial contents of the cache:

Foam puzzle cube
Tennis ball (still brand new)
DIRECTV foam television stress ball
2 superballs
Geography pin
2000 New Year edition of Jack
FUEL Keychain
UFC collectible poker chip
Dave and Buster Yo-Yo

Update: 30 Nov., 2003: I'VE DECIDED TO MOVE THE CACHE. New coordinances have been submitted.
